Recently, Luka joined our IOT team as a Frontend Developer. With the rest of the team, he is building products in our areas of expertise — BSS in an enterprise setting, Internet of Things, and Security Engineering. We asked Luka to share his feedback on our hiring process, and here’s what he said:
" The selection process was well-organized and pleasant. After the initial application and sending my CV, I quickly received an invitation for an introductory interview to get to know each other and align some expectations.
Since I applied for a dev position, I was given a task so the team at Leapwise could assess my general technical skills. The task was well-designed in the sense that it allowed for extensive elaboration in the code regarding architecture, separating logic from the UI, and so on. For the first time, I received a code review after completing a task for a company, and it was very detailed, which pleasantly surprised me. I was able to get an immediate impression of how the team works and what can be expected—from coding practices to attention to detail. That went great; I received good advice on how to improve certain things and how to approach specific problems. Following that was the technical interview where we first discussed the initial task they had given me, and then moved on to theory and some hands-on questions. This was quite in-depth, covering JavaScript from the lowest levels (event loop, micro-macro tasks, etc.) all the way to React, styling, HTML, CSS, and so on. It was challenging, but I expected that since I was applying for a mid-level position. After that, there was a C-level interview where we generally discussed various situations and how to approach and resolve them, as well as what would be expected of me if I were to get the job. Overall, it was a very pleasant conversation where I didn't feel the pressure of a final round interview, which is a very good sign in terms of the atmosphere one could expect in the office."
